8th Annual “Revels RiverSing” Celebrates Fall with Music and Song

On Sunday, September 18th, join thousands of voices in song, including special musical guests, nationally acclaimed folk singers and recording artists
The Nields, as Revels celebrates the approaching Equinox along the banks of the Charles with music, poetry and communal singing at the 8th annual Revels RiverSing.

Revels music director George Emlen leads this free outdoor celebration by the Weeks Footbridge featuring nearly a hundred area chorus members plus many other guest performers. Sax great Stan Strickland will close the evening with an improvisational sunset serenade from an illuminated Sun/Moon boat floating along the river, providing a magical ending to the end of summer and a striking herald to the onset of fall.  Before the sing, come early to Harvard Square for family fun including face painting, a "honk" band, hula hoopers and a colorful puppet-filled parade to the river that all can join.

5:00 pm: Family Festivities Begin in Harvard Square's Winthrop Park

5:45 pm: Grand Processional to the Charles (with puppets, acrobats and the Dirty Water Brass Band)

6:00 pm: The Singing Begins!
