  Halloween Happenings at Harvard Museum of Natural History

Find human skeletons, bats, owls, and more among the hundreds of animals on display at the Harvard Museum of Natural History, just a short walk across the campus from Harvard Square.

Observe live scorpions  in Arthropods, Creatures that Rule.  Halloween weekend’s Nature Storytime, offered on Saturdays and Sundays at 11 am and 2 pm, will features stories on bats, spiders, and other creatures for under-six visitors.

Halloween colors are black and orange --but in the Language of Color exhibition you can learn that how you see colors can be quite different from how other animals perceive color.  Explore the hall of dinosaurs to find the skeleton of the Late Cretaceous flying Pteranodon--and see how its wings were different from those of bats you find in the newly renovated, just opened, Great Mammal Hall.  Harvard Museum of Natural History, the university's most visited museum, is at 26 Oxford Street.  More info at: www.hmnh.harvard.edu or 617-495-3045.
