Cooking with Italian Grandmothers: Recipes and Stories from Tuscany to Sicily

American chef Jessica Theroux spent a year traveling throughout Italy, cooking and talking with Italian grandmothers, learning their secrets and listening to their stories. The result is a charming and authentic collection of recipes, techniques, anecdotes, and photographs that celebrate the rustic and sustainable culinary traditions of Italy’s most experienced home cooks. Cooking with Italian Grandmothers features the histories and menus of fifteen grandmothers, each of whom welcomed Ms. Theroux into their kitchens and pantries and shared both their favorite dishes and personal wisdom's.

The Irving House

Please order your Pie in the Sky pie ONLINE by November 20th at 5pm. The Irving House is thrilled to participate in this program because Community Servings - Greater Boston's free, home-delivered meals program for the critically ill – uses all donations wisely. In fact, $.93 of every $1.00 raised from Pie in the Sky goes directly to Community Servings' clients and a little goes a long way! Your $25 pie purchase will help Community Servings provide a week's worth of nourishing and delicious lunches and dinners to a neighbor too sick to shop and cook. Even if you don't need a pie for yourself, consider donating one for a client - or just making a contribution to a great cause!
