The Cambridge Visitors Information Booth was opened in 1986 and has been staffed by senior citizen volunteers since its inception. The booth was renamed in dedication to the first volunteer staff member hired in 1986, Jules G. Chisholm, who served actively in the booth dispensing information and witticisms until 2003. Currently the booth serves as the major point of distribution for information not only for Harvard Square, but for the entire city of Cambridge. The volunteers provide directions, maps, brochures and general information to visitors and residents of Cambridge.
