Revels

About

Founded in 1971 by musician/educator John Langstaff, Revels is the producer of the annual holiday favorite, “The Christmas Revels”, a joyous musical celebration of the winter solstice performed each year at Harvard University’s Sanders Theatre.   Revels performances, seasonal celebrations and educational workshops feature traditional music, dance, customs and rituals from around the world as well as Revels hallmark, audience participation.  In addition to “The Christmas Revels”, Revels produces an annual “Twelfth Night” celebration, the family music event, “Spring Sing”, and “Revels RiverSing”, a free celebration of the autumnal equinox held each year along the banks of the Charles River in Cambridge.  Like to sing? Revels has an audition-free community chorus, the Revels Singers, and offers intimate Salons and boisterous Pub Sings, and experimental FRINGE events at different times of the year.  Revels also produces award-winning music CDs under the banner of Revels Records, songbooks, a choral series, and educational materials for children and adults.  For more information on Revels programs, products and events, please visit us at www.revels.org
