Come to Harvard Square and enjoy live international music and learn easy international folk dances on Forbes Plaza in front of the Holyoke Center (1350 Massachusetts Avenue). Instruction for performing all dances will be given to all age groups. No partner is necessary. Please wear appropriate footwear for dancing on a concrete surface!

On Sunday, September 19th, celebrate the approaching Autumnal Equinox with thousands of singers and picnickers at the 7th annual Revels RiverSing along the Charles River in Cambridge. This FREE giant community sing produced by Revels features a colorful Grand Procession, dozens of area chorus members and solo artists, a talented folk band, local sax legend Stan Strickland- and the entire audience- because at a Revels event, everyone is encouraged to sing along!

The 8th Annual Taste of Cambridge, presented by the Cambridge Licensee Advisory Board has been postponed until Tuesday, June 29th, 2010.
The Taste of Cambridge is the ONLY TASTE OF EVENT in Cambridge. Local Cambridge organizations City Sprouts and the Cambridge YWCA have been named as event beneficiaries.

People attending this year’s Taste of Cambridge will get to eat well, support good causes, and see a clean and green food event in action. Learning from last year’s efforts, the TOC committee worked tirelessly to make this year’s Taste an environmentalist’s dream: a large public event generating virtually zero waste. Juliana Lyman of Savenor’s, took charge of the “Green Sub-Committee” and convinced several local businesses to contribute to this goal.

The Harvard Square Business Association founded in 1910 and officially incorporated on May 20, 1936 and is the oldest business association in New England. To the best of our knowledge the HSBA is the second oldest Business Association in the United States and the South Philadelphia Business Association founded in 1897 the first.

The 27th Annual MayFair in Harvard Square features six stages of live entertainment: The Main Stage in the Super Crosswalk featuring “The Emerging America Parade – A Moving Festival,” A charity Hair-Cut-A-Thon, Chalk on the Walk; A Dance Stage; Roaming Railroad Train Rides; A Harvard Student Activities Festival, Hot Air Balloon Rides with donations to charity, Beer Gardens; and two-hundred thousand happy people.

The Harvard Square Business Association was established in 1910 and Incorporated on May 20, 1936. The signed and sealed document of incorporation states, “The object of the association shall be to advance the commercial, industrial, and public interests of Harvard Square; to promote a commercial exchange; to accumulate and give to its members business information; to adjust controversies and misunderstandings; to establish and maintain uniformity in commercial transactions; and to promote just and equitable principles of trade.”
