Dear Friends,
I don’t need to tell you that unhoused folks in Cambridge face life and death during the colder months. This year, with fewer shelter beds, indoor spaces closed, and Covid-19 raging, the risk is even greater.
For the past 8 years, I have launched the Cambridge Winter Warmth Drive, a fundraising effort to purchase sleeping bags and supplies to help folks get through the winter. I know that this is a band-aid. What people need are homes. But we must also realize that despite our efforts, people will be on the street this winter and a sleeping bag may make the difference of life and death.
Over the past few years, I have partnered with First Parish Cambridge Unitarian Universalist, the Harvard Square Business Association, the Central Square Business Improvement District, the East Cambridge Business Association and the Kendall Association. I thank them for their support. However, the majority of contributions come from people like you. People who donate $25, $50 or a bit more.
Our goal is to raise $15,000 by October 31st. Please make a tax deductible donation today
Thank you for your support.
