Passim, a nonprofit arts organization, creates an interactive and inspiring music experience for all, building a vibrant community for artists, students and audience members through its legendary listening venue and school of music.

Established as the Club 47 in 1958 and incorporated as a nonprofit in 1994, Passim in Harvard Square has been a cornerstone of the arts community of New England, fostering both performers and audiences alike.

Our Programs:

Club Passim
For more than 50 years, Club Passim has been known as a premier listening room presenting new and established performers of genres ranging from folk and acoustic to jazz, and everything in between. The historic music venue presents over 400 shows per year to an audience of over 30,000.

Live Music Brunch at Club Passim
Diners enjoy brunch accompanied by live music from the stage of this historic Cambridge listening room. Each brunch will feature a different style of music including Bluegrass, Old Time, Blues, Celtic, Classical, Folk, Jazz and more.

Passim School of Music
Established in 2000, the School teaches a variety of classes and workshops in everything from songwriting to voice to numerous acoustic instruments. The School serves over 500 students per year.

The Iguana Music Fund
Created in 2008, the Iguana Music Fund makes grants to musicians in an effort to advance their art and careers.

BCMFest
Through a monthly Celtic Music Monday and a weekend-long festival in January, BCMFest showcases Greater Boston’s best performers of music, song and dance from the Irish, Scottish, Cape Breton, and other Celtic and Celtic-inspired traditions.
