SUMMARY:Blue Heron Presents: Music for the Burgundian Chapel
DESCRIPTION:The most celebrated form of music at the Burgundian court was secular song\, but Philip the Good was also an intensely religious man\, and his chapel comprised an extraordinary team of singers and composers. The centerpiece concert of our Burgundy Weekend features the elegant counterpoint and ringing harmonies of sacred music by Binchois\, Busnoys\, Du Fay\, and others\, including composers who worked for the earlier dukes—Philip the Bold and John the Fearless—and Philip the Good’s son\, Duke Charles. \nUnder 18 FREE \n\nThis concert is part of the Binchois\, Busnoys & Burgundy Weekend of events (April 30 – May 2\, 2027). \nBlue Heron is pleased to participate in the Card to Culture program\, a collaboration between the Mass Cultural Council\, Department of Transitional Assistance\, WIC Nutrition Program\, and the Massachusetts Health Connector\, by extending free tickets to EBT\, WIC\, and ConnectorCare cardholders.
