Jazzmyn Red’s ROOTS OF HIP HOP with DJ Bella Be, Brian Tillett, Tim Hall, and Trike Called Funk

Jazzmyn Red is the U.S. Ambassador of Hip Hop and Cultural Exchange. In this special event, she will lead a hands-on workshop on the history of hip hop, and then moderate a panel on the current state of the art form in Boston.

Multiple spin sets from DJ Bella Be will create the atmosphere for Jazzmyn’s work throughout this event. Brian Tillett, a highly talented graffiti artist, will bring a finished piece into the Arrow Street Arts lobby, and encourage audience members to “tag” the piece with chalk, creating a living installation and furthering the hands-on education of Jazzmyn Red’s workshop and panel. Panelists include Dart Adams, Cindy Diggs, & Moe Pope. Trike Called Funk orchestrates participatory dance experiences around their customized cargo tricycle and will offer a special performance to close the event out in style.
