Learn Birdsongs *Online*
October 13, 2021 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm
| $130Ever wanted to know what the birds are that you hear around your home and local travels? This class will give you the tools to be able to do just that. We’ll be reviewing local species, and use some graphic illustrations and mnemonics to help remember the sounds. We’ll also examine why birds use song, and understand the differences between contact calls, alarm calls, songs and flight calls. It’s a lot more intricate that you might imagine, and this class will hopefully open your eyes and ears to what’s around you. The course is two afternoon Zoom meetings and a morning spent birding at Mount Auburn Cemetery (or other local birding hotspot depending on possible Covid-related closures) where we’ll practice our new skills. Instructor: Neil Hayward
2 Wednesdays, 5:30-7:30pm. Oct. 13 & 20 (virtually via Zoom) In-person Field Trip to Mount Auburn Cemetery: Sunday, October 24, 8-11am.
The first two classes will be online via Zoom. The Zoom link and information on how to join will be emailed to you. Please also check your spam folder.
