DESCRIPTION: Ralph Farris and Divergent Trio | The Glass Age | Faculty Artist Recital \nEvery age an age of glass. \nAnna Maria Hong’s poem receives its first musical setting from Alexandra du Bois\, chair of Longy’s composition department\, in a world premiere written for Divergent Trio. \nThe trio\, Longy’s faculty ensemble and Divergent Studio’s trio-in-residence\, is soprano\, viola\, and piano: a quietly sizzling combination. Also on the program\, Tina Davidson’s contribution to the AIDS Quilt Songbook and fresh work by young composers from the Divergent Studio sessions. \nNew voices sharing a stage with the songbook that made room for them.\nCorrine Byrne\, soprano. Ralph Farris\, viola. Donald Berman\, piano. \nLongy’s performance are free and open to the public\, but please register in advance.
