Sam Robbins
- Folk Pop
- Singer/Songwriter
Sam Robbins is a New England-based singer songwriter whose smooth, soulful and intriguing vocals evoke thoughts of artists far beyond his 22 years. Reminiscent of classic singer songwriters like James Taylor and John Denver, his songs effortlessly blend pop melodies and folk philosophies coupled with stunning guitar work.
A multi-instrumentalist from a young age, Sam began learning drums and piano, falling in love with guitar at age 13. He then started writing original music, recording his first EP during his sophomore year of high school, while playing open mics in his hometown of Portsmouth, NH.
Over the past 4 years, Sam has performed over 700 shows across New England. These have included dive bars, biker bars, weddings, proposals, frat parties, house concerts, and everything in between. Since these humble beginnings, Sam has risen in the New England scene to play large rooms such as the Music Hall in Portsmouth, NH, Boston City Winery, Blue Ocean Music Hall, The Red Room, Tupelo Music Hall, One Longfellow Square and many other large venues as part of benefit shows and opening for national acts. Following the release of his single “Addicted” in early January, Sam headlined a sold out show at the 200 seat 3S Artspace in Portsmouth, NH.
In 2018, Sam was able to audition on NBC’s The Voice for Adam Levine, Kelly Clarkson, Blake Shelton and Jennifer Hudson. He was the season’s “Young James Taylor” and he was the first artist to ever perform a Jim Croce song on the show. Sam was selected by Kelsea Ballerini to be one of six artists in The Voice’s first ever “Comeback Stage”. He was able to work with and be coached by Ballerini, who called his performance “perfect”.
Hannah Siglin
- Folk
- Singer/Songwriter
Hannah Siglin is a singer, songwriter, and guitarist from the Inland Northwest. Raised on folk music and studied in classical training, her songs tangle intricate guitar parts with raw and intimate lyrics, beautiful both stripped down to her guitar and voice, or set over the dynamics of her band—acoustic bass, fiddle, and mandolin. Since moving to Boston to study songwriting at Berklee College of Music in 2015, Siglin has been honored with the Pat Pattison Scholarship, opened for Margaret Glaspy at The Red Room, and her band has been featured at Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival in 2017 and 2019. She draws inspiration from a deep love of nature and her songs explore the themes that have shaped her coming of age–the losing and redefining of faith, love, and identity.
Kaylna Rakel
- Folk
- Singer/Songwriter
Kalyna Rakel has always done things her own way. After early success at 16 with a video on Much Music, she walked away from a pop record deal in Europe to teach herself guitar and play music on the street. Since then she has recorded four independent albums and played her songs for thousands of people all around the world.
Her songs come straight from the heart, sung with a voice that has been described as Amy Winehouse meets Janis Joplin. With her tour van, Daisy, and Handsome, her steel resonator guitar, the stories in her songs evoke the raw sound of the travelling blues. Her latest record, ‘Before & After You’, is a two-part concept album telling the story of love gone good and bad. Featuring some of Canada’s top musicians, including legendary guitarist Kevin Breit, the album ranges from distorted garage blues to dreamy ethereal folk. The record comes with a 24-page comic book of Kalyna’s original drawings, featuring the album’s lyrics to tell the stories of the songs.
Whether she is playing for tips on the street or on a festival main stage, Kalyna delivers her songs with an honesty that can move a crowd to tears. As her following continues to grow, she remains true to her music and grateful for the opportunity to share her stories.
Rob Moir
- Singer/Songwriter
Toronto’s Rob Moir looks back at five consecutive years of life on the road with the release of his third album SOLO RECORD.
Moir was handpicked to play arena-filling Frank Turner’s Lost Evenings 3 festival in Boston and has toured Europe with Grammy-nominated Neko Case. With solo performances at international festivals BIGSOUND, Music Matters and Live at Heart, as well as multiple successful tours in Australia, Canada, Europe, UK and Japan, Moir has proven his ability to silence rowdy audiences with his intimate performances, quick humour, and captivating stage presence.
Perpetually on the lonesome road, Rob continues to expand his audience as he performs his songs across the world, making fans the old fashioned way – one dedicated believer at a time.
Noah Derksen
- Americana
