SUMMARY:Lovepop Sets Out to Build the Largest Retail Kindness Wall Ever
DESCRIPTION:What if a simple handwritten note could change someone’s day—or even their life? This April\, Lovepop invites the community to experience exactly that with the launch of the Harvard Square Kindness Wall\, a living\, evolving installation designed to spark connection\, reflection\, and small but meaningful moments of kindness. Launching on April 28 (Pay It Forward Day) at Lovepop’s Harvard Square store\, the Kindness Wall will invite visitors to leave or take handwritten notes—messages of encouragement\, gratitude\, or support—creating a shared space where words have the power to uplift strangers and bring people together. At its heart\, the Kindness Wall reflects Lovepop’s belief that love is the foundation for a brighter world—and that it grows when it is shared. Known for its intricate 3D paper sculptures\, Lovepop blends art and engineering through its signature Slicegami™ technique\, transforming paper into magical cards and gifts designed to surprise\, delight\, and bring people closer together. This installation brings that same spirit off the card and into a shared\, real-world experience. “We’ve always believed that a small gesture can have a big impact\,” said Todd McKay\, Manager\, Lovepop Harvard Square. “The Kindness Wall is about creating space for those moments—where someone can give a little encouragement or receive exactly the words they didn’t know they needed.” \n\n\n\n\n\n\nA Community-Powered Experience\nThe week of April 20th leading up to the launch\, Lovepop is partnering with local schools\, nonprofits\, and community organizations to help “pre-seed” the wall with hundreds of notes—ensuring it begins as a vibrant\, living reflection of the community it serves. Once launched\, the installation will continue to grow organically over a three-month period\, with visitors invited to contribute\, engage\, and return—each visit offering a new opportunity for connection. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nCollaboration with Random Note Project\nLovepop is proud to collaborate with Random Note Project\, a global initiative dedicated to spreading kindness through handwritten notes left for strangers. Now celebrating its 25th year\, Random Note Project has inspired countless moments of unexpected connection around the world. \nFounder Gabrielle Bovard will join Lovepop in bringing the Kindness Wall to life\, helping shape elements of the experience and participating in launch activities. \n“At its core\, this is about human connection\,” said Bovard. “A simple note can remind someone they’re seen\, valued\, and not alone. What Lovepop is creating\nwith the Kindness Wall is a beautiful extension of that idea—inviting an entire community to take part.” \n\n\n\n\n\n\nFrom Keepsakes to Shared Moments\nFor Lovepop\, known for transforming paper into memorable keepsakes through intricate engineering and design\, the Kindness Wall represents a natural evolution—turning individual moments of connection into a shared\, collective experience. \nVisitors are encouraged to:\n● Leave a note for someone they may never meet\n● Take a note that resonates with them\n● Return to see how the wall grows and evolves over time \nWhether it’s a message of hope\, a reflection\, or a few simple words of encouragement\, each note becomes part of something bigger—a reminder that even small acts of kindness can ripple outward. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nVisit and Participate\nLovepop is setting out to build the largest retail kindness wall ever\, with a goal of collecting more than 5\,000 handwritten notes from the community over the course of the installation. Visitors are invited to help bring the wall to life—one message at a time The Harvard Square Kindness Wall will be open to the public beginning April 28 at Lovepop Harvard Square and will remain active for approximately three months. \nThose unable to visit in person are encouraged to participate in the spirit of the project through the Random Note Project by sharing messages of kindness in their own communities. \n\n\nAbout Lovepop\nLovepop is a Boston-based company that blends maritime engineering with the Japanese art of kirigami to create intricate\, 3D pop-up cards and paper art. Using its signature Slicegami™ technique\, Lovepop designs complex structures on ship-modeling software\, laser-cuts them for precision\, and hand-assembles each piece—transforming paper into unexpected\, magical experiences. \nLovepop believes that love is the foundation for a brighter world—and that it grows when it is shared. Every day\, Lovepop pours its heart into developing creative\, meaningful\, and fun ways for people to share love with those around them. \nBy combining art and engineering\, Lovepop stretches the boundaries of imagination to create magical cards and gifts that bring people together. Beyond its signature greeting cards—featured on Shark Tank—Lovepop also offers large-scale paper flower bouquets and licensed designs from brands like Disney and Marvel\, turning traditional stationery into “gifts in an envelope.”

SUMMARY:Earth Day Celebration - “We Are The Great Turning”
DESCRIPTION:During worship\, we reflect on the work of reimagining and claiming our place in this Great Turning. Buddhist activist Joanna Macy coined the paradigm shift\, “The Great Turning.” She describes it as a shift from an industrial growth society\, focused on consumption and destruction\, to a life-sustaining civilization. This is made possible by doing the “work of re-connecting”\, work that we as Unitarian Universalists are called to do. Sophia Doescher preaching. \nOur Religious Exploration program will have special Earth Day celebrations in the classrooms with stories\, games\, and activities honoring the earth and remembering all that it gives us. \nAfter the service\, join the Environmental Justice Team and Young Adults for a “re-connecting” walk through the burial ground. Get to know the trees and other life around us!

SUMMARY:SUNDAY brunch – feat. josiah Reibstein & The Hubtones – in the performance space
DESCRIPTION:When’s the last time you sidled up to the bell of a tuba and let its warm\, rich\, funky sound envelope you as it filled the room? Now layer in some spitfire New Orleans trumpet and serpentine clarinet lines\, and you’ve got a sound that helped define American music—and still gets people smiling\, laughing and dancing. \nJosiah Reibstein & The Hubtones tap into that iconic sound with some of Boston’s finest traditional jazz musicians\, delivering swinging\, high-energy sets rooted in New Orleans-style jazz. With playful arrangements and a repertoire of classics and clever surprises\, the Hubtones serve up “trad jazz” that’s brassy\, bawdy and fun. \nAt Lou’s\, live music is always included. In the performance space\, we simply require a food and beverage purchase since full brunch service is offered.
