More on Passim’s 60th Anniversary celebration…
Club Passim is planning several events in 2019 to celebrate 60 years as a live music venue in Harvard Square. In addition to programming the main stage at this year’s MayFair, a number of small events will be taking place in the club this year to honor artists and members of the community. A larger celebratory concert is being planned for the fall.
Club Passim features the best in folk, acoustic and roots music in an intimate, 100-seat setting seven nights a week, with a special live music brunch on Sundays. Music education for adults happens through its Passim School of Music. In addition to providing exceptional live music experiences, Passim is dedicated to helping musicians progress at all stages of their careers, most notably via annual grants through its Iguana Music Fund.
The club continues to be an incubator for new talent and in recent years has seen acts such as Josh Ritter and Lake Street Dive develop on its stage before graduating to larger venues.
