JOIN US For Special Mural Unveiling And Meet & Greet With Artist David Fichter at Salt & Olive
Dear Supporters of Harvard Square and Cambridge ,
As a champion of the rich history, diversity, and continued vitality of Harvard Square and Cambridge, you have a very special seat at our table. When Salt & Olive Market commissioned artist David Fichter to create a mural celebrating the power of food to bring people together, we thought of you and a few other extraordinary people who are dedicated to ensuring that Cambridge remains a distinctive and thriving center of commerce, culture, and community.
Salt & Olive Market, in conjunction with the Harvard Square Business Association, is reaching out to invite you to a special evening with muralist David Fichter and the official unveiling of the work:
A tavola non si invecchia
“At the table, one does not grow old.”
Thursday, July 11, 2019
5 to 7 pm
at Salt & Olive Market
36 JFK Street / The Garage
Along with paying tribute to an ever-changing Harvard Square and Cambridge, the mural expresses Salt & Olive Market’s core belief, “Food brings people together.” It feels particularly resonant during these divisive times.
The mural gathers Cambridge luminaries — past and present — to the table. It features The Brass Sisters, Joyce Chen, Julia Child, Henry Louis Gates, Jr., Harriet Jacobs, Denise Jillson, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, Denise Simmons, Josefina Yanguas, and an animated extended family experiencing the power of a good meal prepared with love and shared with friends.
There are also nods to cherished businesses and the unique character of The Square, among them The Hong Kong, Curious George, Mr. Bartley’s, Out of Town News, The Grolier, Harvard Book Store, The Brattle … not to mention Dewey, Cheetham and Howe!
Kindly RSVP below to let us know if you’ll be joining us on Thursday, July 11th between 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.
