Ocean River Institute

The Ocean River Institute is dedicated to helping individuals and grassroots groups make a difference where they live and work through education, environmental stewardship, and advocacy to protect ecosystems. Instead of thinking globally and acting locally, ORI first listens locally (research). We act locally, and by doing so in concert with others, we become global in our ability to effect positive changes.

ORI believes that people can best address environmental issues by first acting in their own communities. Join with us and take action to:

Stop nitrogen, the number one pollutant of ocean

Further ocean ecosystems-based management

Better manage and conserve our groundwater use for healthy cold-stream rivers and more fish; and

Advance national blue-green legislation
