SUMMARY:Chrysalis and Entifan @ Club Passim
DESCRIPTION:Seycadia will be opening. Join us at 7pm at Club Passim to enjoy some wonderful music by chrysalis and Entifan! \nchrysalis: \nAs their name would suggest\, chrysalis exists in a constant state of metamorphosis\, with an ethos firmly rooted in a sense of care; for their art\, their community\, their identity. chrysalis’ discography comes directly inspired by and written through the lens of their lived experiences as a queer person traversing through a world that often refutes their very existence\, proving to be a project of unfettered defiance and radical love. Career highlights include receiving the Gibson/Music Forward Emerging LGBTQ+ Artist Award\, playing at Boston Calling\, as well as opening for The Head and the Heart\, MALINDA\, Olive Klug\, VÉRITÉ and Katy Kirby. chrysalis has been featured on various editorial playlists\, including Front Page Indie (do you?)\, Fresh Finds (do you?\, cheerwine)\, Juniper (“do you?”)\, Sad Girl Starter pack (“margarita sugar”)\, and Fresh Finds Indie (“crazy” + “do you?”). With every song being as raw and emotionally charged as a freshly written diary entry\, chrysalis bears their heart to listeners. \nEntifan: \nEntifan is a 23 year old creatively sensitive being from Orange County\, CA. She incorporates a fluidity and soft power into her music\, treating her artistry as an outlet to personally reflects and outwardly connect. As their name means “water\,” they play with the duality of malleability and grand force through their experimental instrumentation and arrangements. His work is\, to say the least\, emotional. With her latest single “The Beg\,” she asks you to look inward at your healing and question how you’ve shown up in your struggle. Did you romanticize the sadness the same way you romanticized your peace ? She shares this discovery for herself in this piece. Her music is not for the non-reflective and certainly isn’t for the avoidant.

SUMMARY:Dwight + Nicole
DESCRIPTION:Dwight + Nicole\, based in Burlington\, Vermont\, traces its musical roots through the blues\, soul\, and R&B traditions by exploring the spaces between these genres\, connecting them with themes found in dream pop and alternative rock. Dwight Ritscher’s warm\, soulful tenor would be the envy of many bands\, but it is Nicole Nelson’s four-octave vocal range that wowed a national audience during season three of NBC’s “The Voice.” \nDwight\, the band’s principal songwriter and guitarist\, first started performing live as a child with his grandfather\, and it wasn’t long before players were sneaking him into blues clubs around Monmouth Park\, New Jersey to man the tubs. Nicole\, also a major songwriter for the band\, plays bass\, her first love was the musical theater\, but she also explored musical expression through violin. \nDwight started his first bands while in college in Burlington\, and\, after graduation\, he relocated to Boston to fulfill a recording contract for his band\, Red Beans and Rice. He further developed his craft on stages throughout New England. Meanwhile\, Nicole was being recognized as a standout jazz vocalist throughout Boston. Their paths crossed around town\, and they discovered they shared an obsession with the soul and blues greats like the Staple Singers\, Albert King\, and Etta James. As a result\, it wasn’t long before Ritscher and Nelson formed a duo. \nDwight + Nicole\, the duo\, began with Dwight on electric guitar and Nicole on tambourine\, with both stomping their feet for the beat and singing in harmony. The couple later moved to Vermont\, where they met and joined forces with powerhouse drummer Ezra Oklan and keyboard wizard Leon Campos\, thus completing the band. They have toured throughout North America with Mavis Staples\, Melissa Etheridge\, and Norah Jones\, among others\, as well as performing as headliners. \nThe band’s live shows have become legendary\, with fans expressing that they find comfort in the performances\, and the band members’ chemistry has been described as intoxicating. Dwight + Nicole is the recipient of accolades and many awards over the past decade. The band and its members have been named “Band of the Year\,” “Vocalist of the Year\,” “Best Blues/R&B Band\,” “Female Vocalist of the Year\,” “Blues Act of the Year” at the Boston Music Awards and also won “Video of the Year” at the Independent Music Awards\, as well as earning Daysies Awards from the Burlington\, Vermont weekly paper\, Seven Days. \nWith numerous releases in prior years under their belts\, Dwight + Nicole released The Jaguar\, The Raven\, and The Snake in 2024\, featuring the single\, “Saying Goodbye.” Produced by acclaimed producer Joel Hamilton and recorded at his Studio G in Brooklyn and Ocean Sound in Giske\, Norway through 2022\, the album features musical guests the Daptone Horns and Arkai Strings\, among others. The band rejoined Hamilton in Studio G in January 2025 to record a new album\, Day or Night\, which will see release on March 20\, 2026. \n“Dwight & Nicole are my favorite new band!” – MAVIS STAPLES

SUMMARY:Windborne
DESCRIPTION:Windborne’s captivating show draws on the singers’ deep roots in traditions of vocal harmony\, while the absolute uniqueness of their artistic approach brings old songs into the present. Known for the innovation of their arrangements\, their harmonies are bold and anything but predictable. Instead of simply dazzling the audience with vocal fireworks; Windborne evokes a deep emotional response connecting their audience to the past\, distant places and themselves\, it’s no wonder they have been crowd favorites since starting to tour in 2018. Windborne is particularly known for our viral videos which have gained the group nearly 500\,000 followers singing at Mont Saint Michel in France\, and Cathedrals around the world! \nWith a 20-year background studying polyphonic music around the world\, Lauren Breunig\, Jeremy Carter-Gordon\, Lynn Rowan\, and Will Rowan share a vibrant energy onstage with a blending of voices that can only come from decades of friendship alongside dedicated practice. The ensemble shifts effortlessly between drastically different styles of music\, drawing their audience along on a journey that spans continents and centuries\, illuminating and expanding on the profound power and variation of the human voice. BBC Traveling Folk describes Windborne as “subverting expectations and redefining the genre [of vocal music]… just absolutely phenomenal!” \nAudiences and critics lavish praise upon the singers not only for their technical mastery\, but for the passion\, engagement\, and connection with each other and the audience that imbues each performance with a rare power. But there’s another\, crucial dimension to Windborne that guides and roots their artistry. They are adherents to folk music’s longtime alliance with social activism\, labor and civil rights\, and other movements that champion the oppressed\, the poor\, and the disenfranchised. Windborne’s dynamic harmonies breathe new life into old songs\, creating an experience that is rooted by its history\, but strikingly relevant to the contemporary listener.

SUMMARY:Time Sawyer
DESCRIPTION:Time Sawyer’s name reflects the pull between the past and the future. The character Tom Sawyer evokes the rural background and love of home that the band shares. Time is a muse for songwriting; it’s the thread that runs through life\, bringing new experiences and giving us a sense of urgency\, while still connecting us with our past. The folk-rock band has performed on the stages of some of the Southeast’s most iconic festivals\, including Merlefest\, Floydfest\, Bristol Rhythm and Roots Reunion\, Albino Skunk Music Festival\, and Carolina in the Fall. They’ve shared bills with American Aquarium\, John Craigie\, Hiss Golden Messenger\, Langhorne Slim\, John Moreland\, Steep Canyon Rangers\, The Wood Brothers\, Susto\, and many more. \nIn March 2020 the band started a variety livestream called “Sam on Sunday.” The show originated out of necessity\, as the pause button was hit for live shows\, but quickly\, connecting with friends\, family\, and fans each week became just as important. As live music returned\, the project transformed into “Sam on Someday\,” bringing together guest artists of widely varying genres to create memorable\, one-time-only collaborative experiences. \nTime Sawyer’s songs call out the attitudes and behaviors that lead to our divisions – the way that we show understanding to our friends and family\, without thinking about how folks outside our social circle are experiencing their own problems\, and are\, at heart\, just like us. The music does what might seem impossible. It holds listeners accountable\, but at the same time\, draws them in and makes them feel good about what we all have in common. One of Time Sawyer’s goals has always been for listeners to feel a sense of community and connection during the show\, and then to keep it with them\, long after the music ends.

Visual\, artful and surprising. Brooklyn in July\, Oklahoma towns\, rattlesnake tails\, turbary thieves\, meter maids and drunk roosters. It happens every time. Watch a YouTube video…it’s fine\, but it’s not the same. You gotta come to a show. With unwavering courage to be himself\, he is literate\, poignant and funny as hell. \nHe lives in Ithaca NY\, and tours regularly in the US\, Ireland and Canada.

SUMMARY:Rachel McCartney
DESCRIPTION:Rachel McCartney is releasing a new album\, Taming Dragons\, and sharing it at Club Passim feels like a true homecoming. McCartney celebrated her previous record release at Passim seventeen years ago\, while very pregnant with her now teenage son. After stepping back from music to fully commit to her career as a labor and delivery nurse\, McCartney is back on the scene with a new record and over a decade of stories to share. Taming Dragons was produced by Zach Hickman and along with Zach\, features musical contributions by Rich Hinman\, Dave Brophy\, and James Rohr\, along with harmony vocals by Rose Polenzani\, Vivian Sessoms\, and McCartney’s long-time collaborator and friend Teddy Goldstein\, who will kick off the night’s festivities.

SUMMARY:Rachael Kilgour & Jean Rohe
DESCRIPTION:Rachael Kilgour writes in hopes of finding a truth she can live with. Her heartfelt release\, “My Father Loved Me”\, was written in memory of her late Canadian dad and and led her on an extensive tour across the U.S. and Canada. Her live performances radiate with sincerity and humor. \nJean Rohe writes one-of-a-kind narrative songs\, concerned as much with the interior lives of her narrators as with the sociopolitical forces that shape them. Her long list of awards is a testament to the breadth of her vision\, spanning prizes in roots music\, song craft\, lyric writing\, theater arts\, social-justice work\, jazz performance\, and arts education from organizations as diverse as the Brooklyn Arts Council\, The NYC Women’s Fund for Media\, the Montreux Jazz Festival\, the Telluride Bluegrass Festival\, the Jonathan Larson Foundation\, the Johnny Mercer Foundation\, and MacDowell.

DESCRIPTION:Jordan Caiola (CAI•OLA) is a songwriter/musician/producer based out of Philadelphia. He founded the indie rock band Mo Lowda & The Humble in 2010 and\, due to its intense touring schedule\, the band became his main priority along with his side project NightSeason (founded in 2016) – an indie/electro-pop producer duo. Though he always felt writing folk songs was his true “wheelhouse”\, it wasn’t until the nationwide lockdown in early 2020 that he finally put aside the time to record a collection of those songs for his first solo album ‘Only Real When Shared’. His second record\, a more mature and textural follow up entitled\, ‘This Could Be Everything’\, was released August 2nd\, 2024 and is streaming everywhere.

SUMMARY:Case Oats
DESCRIPTION:Casey Walker never thought she’d write an album. A novel\, maybe\, when she was in undergraduate school for creative writing. But music always called to her\, and it wasn’t until she moved to Chicago and met a stable of musicians that she realized that recording was within reach. \nWalker formed Case Oats in 2018 and turned the band into a Chicago fixture until finally\, in 2025\, signing with Merge Records\, and releasing a debut record to critical acclaim. Chicago Sun-Times called it a “standout debut.” Rolling Stone hailed it as “a winning set of alt-country and folk songs with warm melodies\, novelistic verses\, and unassuming vocals that recall Daniel Johnston and Kimya Dawson.” \nThe album was produced by Walker’s longtime bandmate and fiancé\, Spencer Tweedy (drums)\, and recorded in a makeshift Chicago basement studio\, in the bungalow rented by Jason Ashworth (bass) and Max Subar (guitar and pedal steel)\, featuring fiddle work by Scott Daniel and guest pianist/organist Nolan Chin. Walker’s songs get to the heart of relationships and experience\, and bring city life down to earth—to the porch swing\, where Walker believes everyone ultimately belongs.

SUMMARY:Kipling Drozek and the Chaperones
DESCRIPTION:Kipling Drozek is twelve years old. His favorite things are video games\, “Weird Al” Yankovic\, Pokémon\, LEGO Mario\, and food. His least favorite things? Long walks\, school\, and consequences. Kip began writing music during COVID\, releasing his first album\, Oreshadow\, at the age of ten—and earning the record for the youngest musician ever to headline Club Passim. \nNow Kip is back with his sophomore outing\, Ick. Ick is a concept album all about things that Kip does not like: love songs\, coffee\, long car drives\, writer’s block\, cleaning his room\, and more. Featuring a full band and recorded/produced by the Grammy-nominated Zachariah Hickman\, the album is filled with catchy\, intricate\, open-hearted anthems about childhood\, often veering into accidentally profound reflections on the human experience.
