SUMMARY:David Wax Museum & Lowland Hum present The Golden Hours
DESCRIPTION:Catch the unveiling of The Golden Hours\, a new band formed by the members of acclaimed indie-folk acts David Wax Museum and Lowland Hum. These musicians have been touring and recording for over 20 years\, featured on CBS Saturday Morning and NPR’s Tiny Desk\, and lauded by The New York Times\, Washington Post\, TIME and Rolling Stone.  The Golden Hours’ debut record Terra Nova (to be released in 2026) brings together the power of these four songwriters in a marriage of lush harmonies\, emotional depth\, and supreme musicality. \nHailed by NPR Music as “pure\, irresistible joy” and praised by The Guardian as “global crossover at its best…as cheerfully infectious as it is original\,” David Wax Museum’s eclectic and exuberant sound blends the ancient and ever-relevant rhythms of traditional Mexican music with amber pop hues and unabashed rock riffs\, all tethered together by seductive harmonies. \nCo-fronted by multi-instrumentalist Suz Slezak with her raucous accordion and sublime fiddling along with the charismatic energy of David Wax\, their on-stage chemistry is both captivating and intimate. Since their early breakout as a buzz band at the revered Newport Folk Festival\, the band has toured the world with their two young children in tow\, performing at festivals in North America and Europe\, and sharing stages with The Avett Brothers\, Los Lobos\, The Wood Brothers\, Old97’s\, Buena Vista Social Club\, Gregory Alan Isakov\, Watchhouse\, Josh Ritter\, and Guster\, among others. \nTransmitting their kinetic energy in platforms including CBS This Morning: Saturday\, Tiny Desk Concert\, and NPR’s World Cafe\, they have also soundtracked love stories on and offscreens\, from the Netflix #1 show Firefly Lane to the wedding of US Secretary of Transportation\, Pete Buttigieg. Canada’s CKUA Radio praised their latest album You Must Change Your Life as “truly transformative — a colorful\, multi-layered dream world which speaks to both the most earthly and the most ineffable sides of our human existence.”

SUMMARY:Sunny War
DESCRIPTION:Sunny War (born Sydney Lyndella Ward) is more than just an artist; she is a force of nature that is tough to pin down. What exactly is her style? Is she a blues or punk artist? The answer is yes and no. You can try to place Sunny in a few boxes\, but doing so would be a major disservice to the young songstress. Yes\, she may be a Robert Johnson with a shot of Bad Brains\, but even this description falls short. The only way to really know Sunny is to immerse oneself in the music. Easy enough\, right? OK\, maybe not that easy. \nSunny’s repertoire includes an expansive collection of songs exploring personal aspects of her life. Her lyrics prove she is not afraid to share her insights and philosophies on life. In her track\, “Man of My House\,” Sunny speaks on the trials and tribulations of living without a father in the home and inheriting the role of head of the household. Other tracks are just as powerful\, but also contain a dose political philosophy as exemplified in the moving blues tracks\, “Police State” and “Sheep.” There is also “Downtown–”a track that touches on the damage to one’s life drugs can cause without warning. \nSunny has indeed blown people away as evidenced by signing a sponsorship deal with Gibson Guitars and signed with performance rights organization BMI.

SUMMARY:The Howard Levy 4
DESCRIPTION:“fresh\, energetic\, spontaneous\, adventurous” \nThe Howard Levy 4 is a dynamic\, multi-styled band hailing from Chicago\, led by Grammy-Award winning diatonic harmonica master\, pianist and composer Howard Levy. Joining him are the incredibly virtuosic guitarist Chris Siebold\, the outstanding upright and electric bassist Joshua Ramos\, and the masterful Brazilian drummer Luiz Ewerling. This powerhouse ensemble delivers pure musical magic in a range of styles that includes Jazz\, Latin\, World Music\, and Blues. Besides several distinctively reworked American and Brazilian tunes\, the band has an astonishingly diverse repertoire of original compositions that combine and blend many cultures\, rhythms and genres\, creating a sonic experience that’s nothing short of extraordinary. \nA prolific recording artist\, Howard has released 17 albums under his own name and appeared on hundreds more. He is a founding member of Bela Fleck and The Flecktones and has performed and recorded with an incredibly diverse range of artists including Kenny Loggins\, Paquito D’Rivera\, Donald Fagen\, and Kurt Elling. The revolutionary technique that he developed on the diatonic harmonica transformed it into a fully chromatic instrument for the first time\, opening up possibilities for limitless musical exploration while still retaining the cry of the Blues. \nSounding like no other on stage\, Howard’s unparalleled harmonica playing and virtuosic\, lyrical pianism creates a 1-2 punch\, effortlessly alternating between instruments and sometimes blending the two in wild and unexpected ways. The Chicago Tribune says\, “As Art Tatum was to the piano\, so is Levy to the harmonica: a hyper-virtuoso whose feats can be admired and studied but never really replicated.” And Jazz Times notes\, “Although he cites McCoy Tyner and Herbie Hancock as influences\, Levy the pianist has a sunnier\, more ebullient style than either\, enlivened by an unfailing upward momentum…” \nChris\, house guitarist for A Prairie Home Companion\, has recorded and toured with some of Chicago’s most eclectic Jazz and fusion groups; Joshua\, who played five years with jazz legend Ramsey Lewis\, is one of the industry’s most in-demand bassists; Luiz\, whose Brazilian roots infuse the ensemble with rhythmic and compositional richness\, adds profound depth to the group’s sound. \nThe Howard Levy 4’s live performances are a feast for the intellect and the senses\, brimming with unbridled energy and artistic brilliance. Their EP\, “Live from Chicago”\, showcases their extraordinary ability to transcend musical genres and captivate audiences. Experience the artistry of The Howard Levy 4\, where every concert is a journey through boundless landscapes of musical expression.
