SUMMARY:BRANDON SWINGMAN SANDERS with Special Guests WARREN WOLF AND GREGORY GROOVER JR.

Between the lively\, genial readings of the standards “Softly\, as in a Morning Sunrise” and “Monk’s Dream\,” the melodic soul of Sanders’s two originals “Compton’s Finest” and “SJB\,” or the masterful vocals from special guest Jazzmeia Horn on Stevie Wonder’s “I Can’t Help It” and Duke Ellington’s “In a Sentimental Mood\,” Sanders’s maiden voyage on record is a serious accomplishment. -Terry Hinte – allaboutjazz.com

SUMMARY:LITTLE MISS AND THE BOOM
DESCRIPTION:Jazz\, blues\, swing\, and a whole lot of sass. Little Miss and the Boom bring a show that’s stylish\, playful\, and impossible to forget. \nLittle Miss and the Boom bring Scullers audiences a show that feels both polished and delightfully unpredictable. Blending jazz sophistication with blues grit\, buoyant swing\, and a retro-modern sensibility\, this is a night designed to be felt as much as heard. \nAt the center is Little Miss\, a magnetic frontwoman whose voice\, timing\, and playful sass fill the room. She doesn’t simply perform the songs\, she lives inside them\, drawing the audience into a lively exchange of glances\, humor\, and spontaneous moments. Every performance carries its own spark\, shaped by the energy in the room and the easy rapport she builds with the crowd. \nBehind her\, the six-piece band delivers sharp\, stylish arrangements that swing with intention and ease. The musicianship is precise but never rigid\, leaving room for personality\, surprise\, and the kind of interplay that keeps the music fresh and engaging from start to finish.

SUMMARY:HEY RIM JEON
DESCRIPTION:Described as a “brilliant pianist” by legendary saxophonist Benny Golson\, Hey Rim Jeon has been enjoying the recent accolades and acknowledgements of her accomplishments as a musician and educator\, following the release of her new jazz recording Groovitude\, which soared to No. 14 on the Jazz Week National Radio Chart and remained in the top 20 for several consecutive weeks. The recording features a guest spot by her dear friend and colleague Grammy Award-winning jazz drummer Terri Lyne Carrington\, as well as bassist John Lockwood and drummer Yoron Israel. The recording holds a special place in her heart\, as it’s dedicated to her late father.\n\nIn addition\, her recent sold-out CD release concert at Scullers\, the No. 1 Jazz Club in Boston\, and the world-famous Birdland jazz club\, established Hey Rim as a force to be reckoned with in the jazz community. She received rave reviews from fans and music critics\, as well as members of the Korean Cultural Center and Korean Cultural Society. A high point of her trip to New York was viewing her image for the first time on a billboard at Times Square that flashed brightly during her gig at Birdland.
