St. Paul Parish
We are an unusual parish in that we include, first, a family of parishioners coming to worship at St. Paul’s from the area around Harvard Square as well as from the city of Boston and from many suburbs and even from other states. In addition to our Eucharistic celebrations, we offer programs in religious education, special lectures, an active youth group, opportunities for spiritual growth, and volunteer efforts to serve the poor, the hungry, and the suffering.
Music has always been integral to our life at St. Paul’s, and the Saint Paul’s Choir School, the only Catholic boys’ choir school in America, provides for the church’s Choir of boys and men. This rare traditional Choir of boys and men sings great Catholic music in service to the liturgy at the 11:00 a.m. Mass each Sunday of the School term, while one of the boys’ Choirs sings at the 12:10 p.m. Mass Tuesday through Friday, the Saturday 5:00 p.m. Vigil Mass, and Vespers at 5:15 p.m. each Wednesday. The volunteer parish adult Choir sings at the 9:30 Mass each Sunday, September through June.
The third component of St. Paul Parish is the Harvard Catholic Center, an active chaplaincy to undergraduates and graduate and professional students at Harvard University and other academic institutions in the area. A special Mass for students is held Sunday evenings at 5 p.m., and other liturgies are celebrated at the various Harvard graduate schools. Please see the links to Harvard Catholic websites.
