Calvin Johnson is a third generation saxophonist, composer, and bandleader born and raised in the great city of New Orleans. As a former member of the Preservation Hall Jazz Band and the Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Calvin now resides full-time in New York City and has since performed at Jazz @ Lincoln Center, the Blue Note, Radio City Music Hall with his band, Calvin Johnson & Native Son. His most recent album, Notes Of A Native Son, received several glowing reviews including 4 stars and named a Top 20 album of the year by Downbeat Magazine.
