Performers write music with a pencil in one hand and their instrument in the other. Most of the time, they don’t think about techniques or schematics. They just write what feels right to play. UNPLAYED/UNHEARD is the stage in which performers from the Jazz and Contemporary Music department get an opportunity to display their artistry and creativeness, premiering original music alongside their friends and colleagues. Tonight you’ll hear different music styles, derived from a wide palette of traditions: chamber music, progressive rock, folklore, singer-songwriter, and more.
