Something lovely happened this week.
Featured on the front page of Cambridge Day there is a beautiful profile of our Artistic Director and co-founder, Ran Bechor, written by Susanne Beck. It’s a warm, thoughtful conversation about his journey, his approach to theater for young audiences, and what he’s building at Adam Theater.

The play Ran talks about in the article, The Flood, is currently in workshop at the Roberts Studio Theatre at the Calderwood Pavilion. We started two weeks ago and something really special is happening in the rehearsal room.
About The Flood
The Flood – written and directed by Ran – brings together two children. A girl too afraid to step outside her room, exploring the world through a camera lens, and a boy just learning of his parents’ divorce. When he catches her filming him, their fears collide, and forge a brave new friendship.
Through the telling of Noah’s Ark, they devise a world of their own, a blanket fort becomes the ark, a spray bottle the rain, and through camera, toys, and found objects, a vast, living world grows before your eyes.
This is how kids weather a storm: reaching into what matters most, and carrying it safely through the flood.
It’s an orginal play, about what kids hold onto when the world around them is shifting. It’s for young audiences ages 10 and up, and it’s the kind of work Adam Theater commits to making – serious theater that treats kids as the audience they actually are.
We’re honored to be premiering it at the Calderwood Pavilion in March 2027.
