Congratulations to Harvard Square’s Very Own Advice Guy!

George Viall, a 76 year old retiree, can often be found in the center of Harvard Square giving out sage advice to people passing by – just so long as it doesn’t involve politics or religion!

Recently, Al Roker visited the much beloved Harvard Square character and featured him on the Today Show’s “Motivational Monday” segment

Viall developed the idea soon after retirement when looking for a ways to keep busy with his new found time.

In a recent Boston Globe feature, Viall explained, ““A lot of times people lack self-confidence in their ability to make good choices for themselves.  Whatever it is, they don’t believe in themselves enough. They don’t love themselves enough. They don’t respect themselves enough. So they’re hesitant about a lot of the things they’re doing in life.”
