Warm, Dark, Sweet and Luscious: Chocolate Festival in Harvard Square 2012

Chocolate lovers rejoice! The Harvard Square Business Association and Harvard Square Chocolate Tours are pleased to announce the 2nd Annual Chocolate Festival! This three day event includes Dining in the Dark at UpStairs on the Square and Nubar, where diners will be blindfolded and have their senses heightened as they indulge on chocolate meals.

Boston Celtic Music Festival in Harvard Square

Boston’s Celtic Music Fest (BCMFest) will celebrate its ninth anniversary January 6 and 7, 2012, at venues in Harvard Square. The festival is a popular showcase for Boston’s best performers of music, song and dance from Irish, Scottish, Cape Breton and other Celtic and Celtic-inspired traditions.

Harvard Square is aglow with holiday spirit. It is radiating warmth and welcoming light and will continue to do so throughout the entire Winter Season. Our display this year; white lights, sparkling stars, multicolored swags, velvet Crimson bows and an electric blue canopy over Winthrop Park, brightens our days, warms ours nights and is made possible through the generosity of many Harvard Square Business Association members.

CrossFit Boston comes to Harvard Square

Spend one hour exercising with CrossFit Boston on Palmer Street in Harvard Square. Participants will be coached proper technique in movements that will allow them to achieve their fitness goals of 2012 and beyond. There will be a short workout that attendees may participate in, followed by a more advanced workout to observe, and time for some Q&A.

The Harvard Square Business Association is excited to announce the schedule for Sparklefest 2011, a five-week celebration of the holiday season in Harvard Square that begins on Plaid/Black Friday and culminates on New Year’s Eve.

Kick-Off The Holidays at the Cambridge 5K – Yulefest

Long before Christmas, there was a quirky winter festival named “Yule” that people really loved. Join us on December 18th at 10:00am for a 5K race that takes the holidays back to their old school roots! This5K course and a great post-race party is sponsored by Clover Food Lab, Pretty Things Beer & Ale Project, Notch Session Ale & Peak Organic.

Toys For Tots

Cambridge Firefighters will once again partner with the United States Marine Corps Reserve in collecting toys in the annual “Toys-for-Tots” drive. Now in its’ 64th year, the program was started in Los Angeles, CA when a handful of Marine Reservists distributed 5,000 toys to needy children on Christmas Eve 1947.
