From towering totem poles and large Maya sculptures to precious artifacts of the ancient world, the Peabody Museum at Harvard exhibits six continents of world culture just a short walk from Harvard Square. The Peabody is known for its extensive Native American and Mesoamerican collections, including life-size casts of Maya monuments, as well as its changing exhibitions such as Wiyohpiyata: Lakota Images of the Contested West featuring 19th-century warrior art, and Digging Veritas, which explores the archaeology of colonial Harvard. The Peabody Museum is one of the Harvard Museums of Science & Culture.
