Writer/director Dario Argento is the most famous figure in Italian horror—and with good reason—even this, his debut feature, was a smash hit and served to bring the giallo genre to a whole new audience. In this baroque thriller, an American in Italy (Musante) witnesses an attempted murder in an art gallery. Of course, he begins his own investigation that puts both him and his girlfriend (Kendall) in jeopardy.
