Ulmer (Detour), this independently made sci-fi yarn about a seemingly innocent alien stranded amongst hostile humans appears to be set in a permanent fog bank on the Scottish moors. Practically, the fog was used to hide the film’s shoestring budget but, aesthetically, it lends the movie an otherworldly atmosphere.
